Safety on AURA
Check an offer before paying. These steps help spot risk and preserve information for a report.
Before a transaction
- Check the profile, reviews and terms. A promotion label does not verify seller reliability.
- Inspect the item, vehicle or home. Check ownership, documents and professional licensing through the relevant official sources.
- Do not share sign-in codes, SSNs or passports in chat. Do not pay to get a job or accept an overpayment with a request to return the difference.
- Check the payment page address. Urgency, gift cards, cryptocurrency transfers and a claimed AURA guarantee are reasons to pause and verify.
If something looks suspicious
- Open the card or seller profile and select Report. Choose a reason and describe the facts.
- Keep the link and evidence. Do not post other people’s documents or contacts in reports or reviews.
- Track the report in your account. You can block a conversation participant to stop new messages.
A public review and a private report serve different purposes. Review your own experience; a negative rating is not itself a violation. An interaction badge confirms a conversation, not a completed purchase.
If you already sent money
Contact your bank or payment service immediately about suspected fraud. Do not send an additional “refund” fee. In an immediate emergency in the US, call 911. Reporting on AURA does not replace a police report.
